Dissemination and Promotion of Traditional Performing Arts

We publish the webzine Magazine Gongzindan, which sheds light on the beauty and joy of traditional arts, and Gongzindan Black, a quarterly magazine with information on and trends in the world of traditional arts.

“Gongzindan” is an abbreviation of the Korean name of the Korean Traditional Performing Arts Foundation, but it also refers to a traditional Korean medicine with benefits for the body and health that has been used since ancient times. Following this value, we are striving to cultivate the traditional arts ecosystem by enabling healthy discourse with the slogan, “The Elixir of Traditional Culture,” and to enrich people’s lives by showing them the beauty and joy of traditional arts.
Starting with the first issue published in July 2018, we have been communicating with the public by highlighting trends and current events in the traditional arts scene and promoting the value of traditional arts by shedding light on trends and phenomena in the traditional performing arts world from various perspectives. We hope that the stories written today will be recorded as traditions of this era in the future.
