The Korean Traditional Performing Arts Foundation (KoTPA), founded to promote traditional performing arts and offer opportunities to appreciate the arts, received the Ministry of Culture, Sports and Tourism’spermission for establishment in 2007 and began as the Gugak Cultural Foundation.

The foundation was renamed the Korean Traditional Performing Arts Foundation in 2009, and it carries out a wide variety of projects to revitalize traditional performing arts. Currently, the organization is striving to boost the demand for traditional performing arts, expand its base, foster talents who will be able to lead the way in the future, and build the groundwork for market creation.
