Strengthening the Planning Capacity of Korean Traditional Performing Arts

Strengthening the Planning Capacity of Korean Traditional Performing Arts

We increase the scalability of Korean traditional performing arts by providing various educational programs to enhance the ability to plan, operate, and promote Korean traditional performances, which are believed to be less competitive compared to their superior artistic capabilities.

We operate two training programs. "Introduction to Korean Traditional Arts Planning" strengthens the whole planning capacity including performance planning, production, and promotion for Korean traditional performing arts. "Open Lecture of Korean Traditional Performing Arts" is open to the public and it helps Korean traditional performing artists acquire a broad perspective and a practical know-how.

Education Introduction to Korean Traditional Arts Planning

We select 30 rising Korean traditional performing artists through a contest. We then provide an intensive training course of 10 to 12 weeks on the entire performing arts process of planning, production and promotion. Our quality training program features expert lecturers in every field and provides coaching by dedicated professors and through field trips.

Qualification :
Korean traditional arts major or equivalents
Duration :
one 4-hour class per week for 10 to 12 weeks
Curriculum :
analysis of culture and arts trends, stage production, promotion/marketing of performing arts, fund raising, training in planning documentation, field trips, evaluation of team project presentation, etc.

an evaluation score of 70 or higher based on attendance and presentation.

Education Open Lecture of Korean Traditional Performing Arts

From analyzing the performance arts market to predicting the future, working-level talks will be held for Korean traditional artists. Based on successful planning and marketing cases in other genres, such as musicals and pop songs, the course provides a chance to share and discuss the current status of the cultural industry and the major issues about 4 times a year. The course has become a place to communicate and express views and opinions of other fields in Korean traditional performing arts.
