Korean National Pungmul Permanent Performance

Korean National Pungmul Permanent Performance

We operate permanent Korean pungmul (percussion music) outdoor performances in 8 locations across the country. These performances increase the public's interest and awareness of pungmul, and they expand opportunities for local people to enjoy culture.

The National Pungmul Permanent Performance program was launched in 2013 with the aim of creating jobs for pungmul (percussion music) groups.
We support distinctive traditional pungmul culture and their private groups throughout the country. We hold Eoul-madang Pungmul-sesang (Percussion Music World) to showcase various pungmul (percussion music) performances originated from 8 provinces. The events are held in downtown districts, markets and tourist attractions across the country.
We work together with local governments and cultural and artistic institutions to raise public interest in Korean traditional pungmul (percussion music).
